ABOUT
Celebrating well-being and connection through adventure.
Come try Canoeing. Kayak. Yoga. Nature meditation. Rock climb. Walk and Run (trail running and parkrun). Bushwalking. Mountainbike and more.
A non-profit event, profiling adventure options from local outdoor groups and individuals. Action the Adventure - Women's Adventure Weekend hopes to highlight as many adventure options as possible, in N.E Victoria, over the weekend of 8 & 9 September.
The event profiles a combination of existing options for adventure & one-off events offered especially for the event. Via a combination of entry level and experienced adventure options, all women are warmly welcomed to come and action an adventure.
The concept was sparked as a personal inspiration from event convener Kate Gilson, as a prelude to the Wangaratta cinema screening of the Women's Adventure Film tour: Sep. 10th, 7 pm. From the initial idea, many local groups and individuals have come on board to share the adventure.
We hope that in addition to enjoying the films we can support women to be adventurous in beautiful NE Victoria.

In addition to the event highlighting accessible adventure options, we wanted our adventuring to contribute something to the well-being of marginalized women.
This year, funds raised will be donated to the www.yogaforfreedom.org.au fundraising effort Sep 2-9. Via a few specialized events and opportunities to donate online or on the day we will support their important work (primarily in Nepal - a place of adventure) with women and girls who have experienced sex slavery, exploitation and abuse.
We celebrate the expansive view of yoga; that walking, paddling, running, MTB can be yoga = union/connection.
