Come and try canoeing on beautiful Lake William Hovel with North East Canoe Club. This is a beginner level, come and try, experience.

About the event
Come try canoeing. Perhaps the first step on many a canoeing and kayak adventure. North East Canoe Club members will support your experience. Canoe equipment (canoe, paddle, life jacket) provided but please bring warm clothing.
This event is family friendly - the rest of the family can explore the lake, fish and enjoy the scenery.
BBQ's are on site at Lake William Hovel, so pack a picnic lunch for afterwards.
In the early afternoon, North East Canoe Club will move into white water mode. You are welcome to come and view the launch of the kayaks and river environs at the nearby spillway.

In addition to highlighting accessible adventure options, we wanted our adventuring to contribute something to the well-being of marginalized women. This year funds raised will be donated to the Yoga For Freedom fundraising effort Sep 2-9. Via a few specialized events and opportunities to donate online or on the day we will support their important work (primarily in Nepal - a place of outdoor adventure) with women and girls who have experienced sex slavery, exploitation and abuse.
